REBORNING PROCESS

I would like to start off by saying that each and every reborn is unique in their own right and will never be duplicated. There are many hours spent from start to finish, upwards of 60-80 hours for each and every reborn created. As you can see it is a time consuming process but one that is very rewarding.

MATERIALS USED

I use nothing but the best materials and products when it comes to creating my reborns. Quality is never sacrificed!

I use several styles and types of brushes and sponges that help create that newborn or infant realistic touch. I continuously look for new products and continue to discover creative ways to improve on realism and technique.

PAINT
Before painting I start off with washing the vinyl kit with soapy water and allowing it to dry. When dry, it is ready for reborning!

Although several types of paints can be used to create a wonderful reborn, I personal like and use Genesis Heat Set Paints. They are extremely durable and never fade. Because GHSP's need heat to become permanently set, it remains workable allowing me time to create the look I am trying to achieve. Every reborn is created with many layers of paint. This helps create the depth and realism of true skin. Each layer must be heat set before the next is applied. Satin sheen is applied to the lips, nails and eyelids for that realistic touch without being too shiny. I do prefer the smooth skin feel so I don't always seal with textured skin. I personal feel the paint is extremely durable and that sealing isn't always necessary especially if you handle your babies with care.

ROOTING
There is nothing more beautiful than a soft head of hair on a baby. This brings me to the step of rooting. In my opinion this is the most tedious and crucial step to reborning. If your reborn doesn't have a realistic looking head of hair, this can throw everything off. Again, this is only my opinion. I only use the softest premium mohair for my reborns, which I currently get from Susan Nagel. I usually use a 46 gauge needle but do use other sizes depending on the hair.  Each hair is rooted one, occasionally two hairs at a time. This means hundreds and even thousands of tiny hair follicles needed to create that beautiful head of hair. As you can imagine, this is extremely time consuming but well worth the end result. I try my hardest to achieve a natural baby hairline and that beautiful crown swirl.

Once rooting is completed and hair has been sealed and allowed to dry on the inside, it is now ready for assembly.

My reborns have Doe-Suede Disk-Jointed Body which comes in various styles and colors most suited for the particular reborn being created. It is weighed with small glass pellets contained in fabric and surrounded with "premium poly fiber fill" that never clumps or separates.

The limbs are realistically weighed with poly pellets and glass granules and topped with  "premium poly fiber fill" which are then sealed for containment. The head is weighed with a mixture of both poly and glass pellets contained in fabric and surrounded by premium poly fiber fill and then sealed. I occasionally will place a magnet for a pacifier.
The reborn is then assembled and the fun begins!

LAYETTE
This is the funnest part...trying on different clothes searching for the perfect layette that will compliment this precious little one. All layettes are new and never used! Once the perfect outfit is found, it is time for the photoshoot!

PHOTOSHOOT
All my photos are taking in natural sunlight during different times of the day. I never, ever touch up or doctor my pictures in anyway. What you see is what you get. As the artist, I feel that it is very important to present my workmanship as truthful as possible. This is why I take close up pictures, not only to show my detailed work, but to also show you exactly what you are adopting without any hidden surprises.

ADOPTION
I am confident that when you adopt one of my reborns you will not be disappointed.  Each one holds a special place in my heart and it is bitter sweet to see them go. However, it gives me great pleasure to know that my reborns are being loved and cherished by their new mommy or daddy.

With the adoption you will receive a signed, photo reborn/birth certificate, signed numbered kit certificate from sculptor if a L.E., and care instructions. I sign all of my reborns bottoms as well for authenticity. She/he will come with at least 3 outfits, a blanket, diapers, and a gift or two!

**Thanks from the bottom of my heart to all of those who have adopted or considering. Without you I could not make this love and passion possible.**

**Thanks so much for taking the time to read about my reborning process!**
